Congratulations to the High Island School Graduating Class of 2017! As the sixteen graduates proceeded into the gymnasium on Friday night to the familiar sound of “Pomp and Circumstance”, the graduates and their loved ones looked on proudly. Family, friends, and fellow graduates listened as Graduate Tabitha Hall welcomed the admiring crowd. Salutatorian Zachary Bronkhorst gave a farewell speech followed by Valedictorian Kristen Hester. Principal Amanda Jackson then introduced numerous special guests presenting scholarship awards to the graduates. Next, the moment everyone was waiting for: the out-going seniors were called up to walk the stage and receive their diploma. Afterwards, the graduates then stood arm-in-arm to sing their song: “Seniors 2017”. And finally, the right of passage – with all caps in the air. You did it! You made it through high school with diplomas in hand, and now the world is your oyster. Congratulations to all the Graduates of 2017 and Good Luck in your Future endeavors.
