The Second Annual Opportunity Fair on Bolivar took place on Saturday. This Texas Crab Festival Charities sponsored event gathered representatives from industries and colleges in the area to share information with and recruit members of the community. All in an effort to increase educational and career opportunities for Bolivar residents. Among the industries present were UTMB Health, Peninsula EMS, US Customs & Border Protection, Galveston ISD, Port of Galveston, Workforce Solutions, and WWL Vehicle Services. And colleges represented were Lee College, Texas A&M University Maritime Academy, College of the Mainland, and Lamar State College Port Arthur. The Opportunity Fair is grateful for the support of local organizations that further the goal of improving the lives of the residents of Bolivar Peninsula.
