July has been a whirlwind sort of month

If I ever told you I’d like to run a Bed & Breakfast, I meant only for my family and friends – cooking, cleaning, laundry. I couldn’t imagine doing this for people I don’t even know. I have absolutely loved all the beach sitting. I finally got brave enough to go into the water, which is a life saver in this heat. Got some new tan lines, or should I say sunburn spots that still hurt in the hot shower. The fireworks were amazing the other night with my two oldest grands – the up and coming pyromaniacs of Crystal Beach. They are so patient with the 3, 5 and 8 year old grands.

We made an interesting find as we were waiting for the sun to set a bit. A little puffer fish about the size of a ping pong ball. He, unfortunately, had expired – wish we had had some formaldehyde. Maybe not – he’d be adorning one of our shelves in the house along with the baby shark, crabs and sea snakes. Ah, life at the beach – nothing like sea creature specimens all over the house.

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
