The Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation and Jane Long Society celebrated the completion of another successful Jane Long Festival. Volunteers gathered at the Mouton Mansion for a gala afternoon of food and drinks on Sunday, November 1, 2015. Cultural Foundation President Charlotte Stirling opened the party by announcing the Volunteer of the Year Award winner. This year’s recipient is Glenda Mastin. Glenda has contributed much time and effort for many years to the foundation. She has also served as chairperson of the very profitable Silent Auction that is a part of the Jane Long Festival.
The honoring of the Jane Long Festival men was a highlight of the party. Honorees for 2015 were Brad Bradford, David Isenblatter, Norm Bentley, Carey Rutledge, Mack Wallace, Curtis Morgan, George McMillian, Moody Fredenberg Robert Morgan, Dan Akers, and Tom Osten. These gentlemen took care of money, sponsored games, helped with set up and take down, did needed repairs, emceed, took care of sound and handled any emergencies.
Charlotte, Margo and Linda thanked all the guests for their contributions. The Jane Long Festival is a marvelous event every year. That is because of wonderful volunteers – and Jane Long’s men.
