HOT and HOTTER dominated the week with the August sun doing its best for Summer’s sake. This meant early or late fishing action for visiting anglers. Night-shift anglers did well on specks and reds under the lights with day-shift anglers who fished the early tides either wading or working the bridge catching quality fish. If you like crabs, then you won’t be disappointed as those crusty critters are here and providing fodder for those crab boils.
Speckled Trout
Good speck action at night or on the early tides for surf waders and bridge casters (Limit: 15 inch minimum for 10 trout with only one 25 inch trout per day allowed as part of your daily limit).
Redfish (Red Drum)
Lots of rat reds being caught so be careful of the size limits (Limit: 20 inch minimum to 28 inch maximum for 3 reds per day – one over 28 inch – plus bonus red allowed when properly tagged in addition to your 3 fish limit).
Black Drum
A few but mostly slow for the most part (Limit: 14 inch minimum to 30 inch maximum for 5 fish per day with one OVER 52 inches allowed).
Flounder
Sporadic but steady flounder catches in the early bay or along the bulkheads (Limit: 14 inch minimum for 5 fish per day).
Sheepshead
SLOW (Limit: 15 inch minimum with 5 per day Creel).
Gafftop Catfish
Slow with a few really nice Gaffs to 2 lbs still being caught (Limit: 14 inch minimum for no limit creel).
Whiting/Croaker
Lots of croaker in the cut with good whiting mainly in the surf (No Limit).
Sandtrout/Gulftrout
Sand Trout low (No Limit).
Blue Claw Crab
GREAT CRABBING (Limit: 5inches between points with no berry crabs (females with eggs) allowed).
Stone Crabs
A few stones coming in from the rocky areas (Limit: only right claw may be kept when 2-1/2 inches above first knuckle).
Stingaree Bait Camp Report

The croaker are small to handsized– should see a great golden croaker run this sept as well as a good redfish run about the same time– last year anglers caught some to 17inches and expect the same this year–
