Osprey on the Nesting Platform

Hello to all! This is one of the most exciting nature things I’ve ever had happen! An Osprey actually landed on our Osprey Nesting Platform. I caught it through the webcam and snapped one shot before he/she flew. Ospreys are one of my favs and just hope and pray that they will use the platform for nesting! I’ve been wanting to JUST see an osprey on that platform for close to six years!

Thanks to the crystalbeach.com webcam I was able to see the osprey on the platform and get a picture before it flew. I was monitoring the live feed, saw the bird, got my binoculars, and made the ID. THANKS for the camera!

    HOORAY and many kudos- hoping to see the nesting and nestlings as well- but if this happens you- or someone- needs to block the nesting area off to protect the nest and osprey from snakes and people- we’ve done that on Lake Sam Rayburn with great success-
