We’ve been cooking up plans for a bigger, better 2016 festival filled with more Gulf Coast Style Music, Art and Crabs than ever before, and those plans are really starting to sizzle! We’re very proud to announce an exciting music lineup that includes crowd favorite Grammy-winning Zydecajun artist Wayne Toups on Friday night, with chart-topping Country music legend Mark Chesnutt headlining on Saturday. Sunday it’s smooth sailing with the sounds of Jerry Diaz and Hanna’s Reef. Plus many more great bands will be taking the stage all-day every day of the Festival. There’s also a Kid’s Stage featuring a variety of entertainment for the tikes. Be sure and sign up for the Two-Step Contest Friday evening – you just may boot-scoot your way into the winner’s circle!
Speaking of contests, we’re bringing even more fun events, contests and games to the Crab Fest than ever before. In addition to the traditional Two-Step Dance Contest, Crab Legs Pageant and Wiener Dog Races we’ve added an annual Washers Tournament, and more games in the Crab Arcade!
Vendor spots are filling up fast and as usual the Crab is the star of the show! There will be more crab with a wider variety of crab dishes, along with the traditional festival favorites. And a bigger, better, tastier Crab Gumbo Contest with more entries, great prizes and best of all, proceeds benefit the Lone Survivor Crystal Beach retreat which serves the needs of our U.S. veterans and their families.
There will also be more of some of the most unique Arts & Crafts booths you’ll find at any festival, anywhere. Local and nationally known artists will be offering a variety of fine art, coastal crafts, handmade furniture, fun sculptures and yard art, jewelry and more. You never know what treasures you’ll find!
All thanks to the wonderful sponsors, vendors and hard-working volunteers who come together each year to make it all possible. As always, all proceeds from the festival go to support charitable programs and scholarships that benefit the residents of Bolivar Peninsula.
